The story behind the Summer Archive
The Summer Archive started at 2am, in a doorway on a side street in Lisbon. Six weeks later it was 10 pieces, hanging in a warehouse in Dubai.
The doorway
Bairro Alto empties out around 4am. Before that, it is loud, hot, packed, and the walk down to the river takes forever because you keep stopping. Somewhere between the last bar and the water, on the shutter of a closed cafe, someone had painted three words: LIFE IS WORTH LIVING. Chunky white bubble letters. Green vines around them. Like whoever did it wanted you to look up.
We took a photo. Not a nice photo. A phone-camera photo, blurry, with the flash on. It ended up in the group chat that same night. Nobody said anything for a couple of days. Then someone wrote: what if that was a tee.
The tee
We wanted the graphic to feel painted, not printed. So we found a hand-painter in Portugal who could reproduce the letterforms in water-based ink, on 240 GSM heavyweight cotton, in an oversized boxy cut. Every piece is done individually, which means minor variations between them. That is the point.
The colourway question came up: keep it in a single deep navy (the original doorway was cream on faded blue), or add a lighter alternate. We ended up doing both. The navy is the hero. The off-white version wraps a hand-painted vase of sunflowers around the side, with the message running down the seam. Softer mood, same message.
The rest of the drop
We were not going to build a full collection around one tee. The Worth Living Tee anchored the story, but the Summer Archive needed to feel like a wardrobe, not a merch table. So we added:
- The Cultured Globe Hoodie, in cream and black, 400 GSM brushed-back fleece with the Cultured globe embroidered on the chest. Built for the plane, the airport, and the walk home.
- The Cultured Globe Tee, our origin-story tee in a true regular fit, 220 GSM cotton, for the days you want the wordmark quiet.
- The Smiley World Tee, a limited SS25 carry-over with a split smiley on the back. Eight left in stock.
- The Movement Pants, a two-piece sand-fleece tracksuit with matching graphics on the back of the top and the left leg.
- Two headwear pieces: the Tiger Snapback and the Cultured 5-Panel, both embroidered by hand.
Ten pieces total. Small enough that every item earned its place. Big enough that you can build outfits inside it.
Where it lives now
The Summer Archive is in stock now, shipping from our Dubai warehouse across the UAE, the GCC, Europe, and worldwide. Every piece is designed in Dubai and manufactured in Portugal. The doorway is still there in Lisbon. We checked.
